Job summary

FedEx Logistics is seeking a yard switcher/package handler to move trailers from the yard to doors and vice versa. You will assist with loading/unloading, sorting by scanning, and maintaining safety procedures.

You must hold a valid driver’s license and be able to follow instructions precisely. Prior switcher/CDL experience is helpful; DOT compliance is required. This role involves repetitive lifting and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a DOT file.
• Ability to understand and follow instruction regarding work duties and safety methods.
• Ability to discern numbers and information in order to sort packages correctly.
• Ability to use basic tools and equipment such as skate wheel rollers, dock carts, hand-held scanners, chutes and unloading devices.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers between yard and load/unload doors.
• Coordinate trailer movements with management or central control.
• Document trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Load and unload packages onto or from delivery vehicles, trailers, and carts.
• Sort packages by scanning labels and memorizing information.
