Job summary

FedEx Logistics is seeking a versatile Yard/Package Handler to move and switch trailers, load and unload packages, and ensure safe, efficient yard operations. You will coordinate with central control, document movements, and perform routine equipment inspections.

The role requires the ability to read labels, operate scanners, and work in a fast-paced environment. Prior CDL or switcher experience is a plus, with no strict education requirement.

Qualifications

• No education required.
• No experience required; 6 months of package handler or switching/CDL experience preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a DOT file.

Responsibilities

• Move and switch trailers between yard and doors, and within the yard.
• Coordinate trailer movements with management or central control.
• Document trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Handle packages as needed, including loading/unloading and sorting.
• Operate hand-to-surface methods for package handling; use conveyors and carts.
