Job summary

Estes Express Lines is hiring for trailer maintenance technicians at all skill levels. You will perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on trailers, read work orders and manuals, and ensure compliance with FMCSA safety requirements.

The role requires physical ability to lift 70 lbs, use hand tools, and operate in varying shifts, including nights and weekends. CDL and FMCSA Clearinghouse eligibility may apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
• Must be 17+ years of age
• Minimum 1 year experience and/or completion of trade school
• Ability to use hand tools and test equipment
• Must have own tools
• Knowledge of general repairs and PM criteria
• Ability to keep up with changing technology and updates
• Mechanical ability and interest in electronics/precision equipment
• Strength and stamina for heavy equipment and awkward positions
• Physical activities include walking, lifting, twisting, climbing a ladder
• CDL and acceptable MVR if driving on public roads
• CDL holder must be registered with FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Self-starting and organized
• Strong work ethic and problem solving
• Willingness to work nights/weekends; flexible schedule
• Able to lift ~70 lbs
• Comply with company policies and code of conduct
• Interact well with others
• Work independently or in a team
• Capable of working under tight deadlines in high volume
• Read/interpret safety rules and manuals with attention to deadlines
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
• Must be authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Repair and preventive maintenance of trailers
• Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and maintain equipment
• Conduct safety inspections and FMCSA-related documentation
• Interpret work orders and technical manuals
• Repair or replace defective parts and systems
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance
• Regular attendance is required
• Other duties as assigned by operations as needed
