Job summary

XPO is hiring a Trailer Mechanic for the Afternoon Shift in Sacramento, CA. You will perform routine maintenance on trailers, inspect and repair systems, and ensure DOT/compliance while working 2:00 PM–10:30 PM.

Qualifications

• One year of verifiable experience in heavy-duty maintenance or entry-level technician role.
• Valid driver's license.
• Able to perform safety inspections and document safety.
• Basic computer skills.
• Available for days, evenings, nights, weekends.
• Brake inspection qualified (FMCSA 369.25).
• Vehicle inspection qualified (FMCSA 369.19).
• Basic hand tools required for heavy-duty trailer maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and adjustments on trailing equipment per manufacturer, DOT, and company schedules.
• Inspect and access areas of trailers to perform maintenance.
• Repair or rebuild equipment systems as needed.
• Follow DOT, EPA, OSHA, and related regulations.
• Maintain proficiency with equipment and technologies to boost productivity.
• Move trailers around the property and operate a hostler.
• Record job times and parts on repair orders.
• Operate specialized tooling and vehicles.
• Keep work area clean, safe, and organized.
• Interact with operations and shop management.
