Job summary

XPO is hiring a Trailer Mechanic to maintain and repair commercial trailers in a fast-paced shop environment. You will perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on trailing equipment, ensuring compliance with DOT and company standards.

Qualifications

• 1 year of verifiable experience in heavy-duty maintenance or entry-level technician role.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Able to perform safety inspections and prepare resulting documentation.
• Basic computer skills for daily tasks.
• Willing to work varied shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and adjustments on trailing equipment in compliance with manufacturer, DOT and company schedules.
• Inspect and access equipment areas to perform required maintenance.
• Repair or rebuild parts of equipment systems as needed.
• Adhere to all DOT, EPA, OSHA and related regulations.
• Move trailers and operate a hostler in various weather conditions.
• Enter job times and parts on repair orders to track activity.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.

Heavy-duty maintenance experience

Valid driver’s license

Safety inspections

Basic computer skills

Shift flexibility (days/evenings/nites

Brake inspection qualification

Vehicle inspection qualification

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
