Job summary

XPO Logistics, Inc. is hiring a Trailer Mechanic in Sacramento to perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy‑duty trailers. You’ll work afternoons, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM, with a focus on DOT/compliance, safety, and efficient operations.

The role requires 1 year of verifiable experience, a valid license, and basic tools; health benefits start day one and a 401(k) is available. Company uniforms are provided; a $400 quarterly tool allowance is offered, plus PTO, holidays and education assistance.

Qualifications

• 1 year of verifiable experience in heavy-duty maintenance or entry-level Technician role.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Able to perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation.
• Basic computer skills.
• Available to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights and weekends.
• Brake inspection qualified per FMCSA regulations, 369.25.
• Vehicle inspection qualified per FMCSA regulations, 369.19.
• Basic hand tools required for heavy-duty trailer maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and adjustments on trailing equipment per manufacturer, DOT and company schedules.
• Access all areas of equipment for inspection and maintenance, including under trailer components.
• Repair or rebuild all or part of equipment systems.
• Abide by DOT, EPA, Interstate Authority, OSHA and other rules and regulations.
• Maintain proficiency in equipment and technologies to boost productivity.
• Move trailers around the property and operate a hostler in all weather.
• Record job times and parts on repair orders to track activity.
• Operate specialized tooling and vehicles.
• Keep the work area clean, safe and organized.
• Interact with operations and shop management.
