Job summary

Estes Express Lines is seeking a maintenance technician in Portland, OR to perform repairs and preventive maintenance on trailers, inspect and diagnose equipment, and ensure compliance with FMCSA safety standards. You will interpret work orders and safety manuals, replace faulty parts, and test performance to meet specifications.

Ability to lift ~70 lbs, work flexible shifts, and use hand tools is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent background.
• Must be 17+ years old.
• Minimum 1 year of experience or trade school completion.
• Ability to use hand tools and test equipment.
• Must own tools.
• Know general repairs and PM criteria.
• Adapt to changing technology and updates.
• Mechanical ability with electronics and precision equipment.
• Must lift ~70 lbs and work in awkward positions.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on trailers.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and service equipment.
• Complete safety inspections and FMCSA documentation as required.
• Interpret work orders and manuals for repair tasks.
• Repair or replace defective parts and systems.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure manufacturer specs and regulations.
• Maintain regular attendance and flexible to various shifts.
• Work independently or in a team to meet deadlines and safety standards.
