Job summary

XPO Logistics, Inc. is hiring a Trailer Mechanic in the United States. The role requires at least 1 year of heavy-duty maintenance experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to perform safety inspections and basic computer tasks.

Flexibility to work days, evenings, nights, and weekends is essential. You will perform routine trailer maintenance, inspect and repair equipment, and ensure compliance with DOT, EPA, OSHA, and company policies.

Qualifications

• 1 year of verifiable experience in heavy-duty maintenance and/or time in an entry-level Technician role.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Able to perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation.
• Basic computer skills.
• Available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights and weekends.
• Brake inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 369.25.
• Vehicle Inspection qualified in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 369.19.
• Basic hand tools required for heavy-duty trailer maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on trailers per manufacturer, DOT, and company schedules.
• Access all areas of equipment to inspect and perform work on trailer systems.
• Repair or rebuild all or part of trailer systems.
• Comply with DOT, EPA, OSHA and related regulations.
• Maintain proficiency with equipment and technologies to boost productivity.
• Move trailers and operate hostler in all weather.
• Record times and parts on repair orders.
• Operate specialized tools and vehicles.
• Keep work area clean, safe, and organized.
• Coordinate with operations and shop management.
