Job summary

R+L Carriers has an immediate opening for a Trailer Mechanic at our Arlington, TN Service Center. This full-time role covers diagnostic work, repair, and maintenance of trailers with Monday–Friday shifts and a competitive benefits package.

Responsibilities include safety inspections per FMCSA and other regulations, interpreting manuals, performing PMs and component repairs, and ensuring work meets manufacturer specifications and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Must perform safety inspections of equipment and document FMCSA and other regs.
• Able to interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Experience repairing or replacing defective parts, components or systems.
• Experience in testing equipment to ensure performance and compliance with specs.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose trailer issues and perform repair work.
• Maintain and service trailers to meet manufacturer specifications.
• Perform trailer PMs and preventative maintenance.
• Test equipment to verify proper operation after repairs.
• Operate with safety and reliability in mind, including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Requirements

• Experienced in performing safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documents required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), company, and any other Federal, State, or Local regulations
• Must be able to Interpret technical manuals
• Must have experience in repairing or replacing defective parts, components, or systems
• Experience in testing equipment for proper performance and to ensure that the work meets manufacturer’s specifications and legislated regulations
• Experience in trailer PMs and repairs
• Must be able to lift 50lbs
• Must own your own tools
• Must be dependable
• Must be prepared to work in climate situation when needed.

Preferred

• Experience using Cetaris Maintenance Work Order System
• Welding
• Experience driving yard tractor/trailers
• Previous experience working on Class 8 commercial vehicles
• Sheet metal and composite panel repair
