Job summary

The City of Baltimore is seeking a Traffic Electronics Maintenance Technician II to install, maintain, repair, and test a range of traffic electronic control equipment. Work involves no supervisory duties and will require moderate physical effort.

Incumbents receive moderate supervision, work rotating shifts, and may be subject to call-back in varying weather and traffic conditions. Candidates must meet the minimum qualifications and provide a valid Maryland driver's license.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited high school or possession of a GED certificate.
• Experience: three years in maintenance/repair of electronic and solid-state equipment.
• Equivalency notes: two years at an accredited college or university in digital electronics, computer science or a related field or FCC General Radiotelephone license may substitute for one year of experience.
• Must have Maryland Class C Noncommercial driver’s license or an equivalent out-of-state license; provisional licenses not acceptable.
• Upload a copy of a valid driver’s license with the application.

Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains, repairs and tests complex traffic electronic control equipment.
• Work requires rotating shift work and moderate physical exertion; outdoor exposure and traffic hazards.
• Receives moderate supervision from a technical superior; no supervisory duties.
