The NC Department of Transportation is seeking an Electronics Technician I (S) to join our traffic operations team. This role installs, repairs, and maintains electrical and electronic equipment for traffic control systems, wiring signals, tracing faults, and keeping accurate records of work performed.

Candidates should have an associate degree in electronics and at least one year of related experience, be able to lift up to 80 pounds, and be willing to work non-traditional hours including

Qualificações

• Knowledge of standard test equipment used to diagnose electronic components.
• Experience reading and understanding schematic drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Knowledge of the National Electric Code.
• Ability to plan, schedule, and carry out work assignments with minimal supervision.
• Experience performing manual and physical labor in varied environmental conditions.

Responsabilidades

• Install, repair, and maintain a wide variety of electrical and electronic equipment with emphasis on traffic control equipment and related devices.
• Trace out electrical wiring diagrams to locate trouble, dismantle and reassemble components, and replace worn parts.
• Maintain proper records of all signal work and time/materials via computer.
• The Electronics Technician is expected to operate with safety rules and be able to lift up to 80+ pounds and work overtime or non-traditional hours when required.
