Job summary

Candidates should have a high school diploma with substantial journeyman experience in traffic control, strong blueprint interpretation, and the ability to obtain NC CDL Class B license within a year for work

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent with considerable journeyman experience in specialized traffic control.
Knowledge of traffic control devices, signs, markings, and related equipment.
Must be able to interpret blueprints and apply to installations and maintenance.
Ability to supervise crews and plan/organize assignments.
Valid NC CDL Class B license or ability to obtain certification within 1 year in work zone traffic control per NC DOT standards.

Responsibilities

Plan and organize crew assignments for traffic control installations and maintenance.
Supervise and review work of crews on various traffic control devices.
Instruct staff on installation, operation, and maintenance of devices.
Answer trouble calls and perform field repairs; may standby at night for emergencies.
Keep records, prepare reports, and manage inventory and purchasing.
