The Transportation Worker 2 role with the State of West Virginia is part of the Expressway Sign Maintenance Crew. Under supervision, you will fabricate and install traffic control signs and support infrastructure at construction and maintenance sites.

A U.S. Department of Labor apprenticeship program awaits, with progression based on hours, training, and CDL attainment. Expect varied hours as the agency maintains 35,000+ miles of state roads.

Qualificações

• Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in roadway maintenance, traffic control, equipment operation or fabrication of aluminum/other metal parts.
• No formal education required.

Responsabilidades

• Fabricate and install traffic control signs and supports.
• Install/remove signposts and erect traffic control signs and barricades for construction and maintenance.
• Operate equipment for sign installation (hydraulic post driver, chop saw, torch, hand tools).
• Set up lane closures, road closures, detour signage and flag motorists in work zones.
