Job summary

AWP Safety is seeking Protections to manage traffic at job sites with no prior experience required. We provide training and support to help you build a career in traffic safety.

Daily duties include setting up cones and barricades, guiding traffic with a stop/slow paddle, and ensuring equipment and vehicles stay clean and safe. Expect outdoor work year-round, with some nights, weekends, or emergency shifts.

Qualifications

• Must pass pre-hire screening, including a drug test.
• Able to stand, walk, and work outside for long periods.
• Able to lift 40–50 pounds.
• Flexible schedule; shifts may include nights, weekends, or emergency work.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Stay alert around moving traffic and follow safety rules all the time.
• Treat coworkers, clients, and the public with respect.

Responsibilities

• Setting up cones, signs, and barricades and taking traffic control equipment down.
• Using a stop/slow paddle to guide traffic, watching traffic and job site activity.
• Following all safety rules taught in training.
• Communicating with your crew and supervisor.
• Helping keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe.
• Working outside all year, in all weather.
