Job summary

AWP Safety, Inc. is seeking Protectors to join our traffic safety team. No experience or degree is required—we provide training and support to build a career in safety. You will set up cones, signs, and barricades, guide traffic with a stop/slow paddle, and help keep equipment clean while working outdoors in all weather.

Expect a flexible schedule with night, weekend, or emergency shifts as needed, and an opportunity for advancement: Senior Protector, Lead Protector, and Field Supervisor roles.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to stand, walk, and work outdoors for long periods.
• Must be able to lift 40–50 pounds.
• Willing to work in traffic and changing weather.
• Flexible schedule; punctual for every shift.
• Must pass pre-hire screening, including a drug test.

Responsibilities

• Setting up cones, signs, and barricades and taking traffic control equipment down.
• Using a stop/slow paddle to guide traffic and monitor site activity.
• Following all safety rules taught in training.
• Communicating with your crew and supervisor.
• Helping keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe.
• Working outside all year, in all weather.
• Shifts may change based on job needs: some nights, weekends, or emergency work.
• You may stand or walk 8 to 12 hours per shift.
