Job summary

AWP Safety, Inc. is seeking Protectors to join our traffic management team at job sites across Connecticut and beyond. No experience or degree is required as we provide training and ongoing support to build a career in safety.

You will set up cones and signs, guide traffic with a stop/slow paddle, and ensure safety on site. Expect outdoor work in all weather, with shifts that may include nights or weekends; pay starts at $19.50–$20.25 per hour and includes paid training and a traffic safety

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license.
• Able to stand, walk, and work outside for long periods.
• Able to lift 40-50 pounds.
• Flexible schedule; Show up on time, every shift.
• Must pass pre-hire screening, including a drug test (safety sensitive job).
• Stay alert around moving traffic and follow all safety rules.
• Treat coworkers, clients, and the public with respect.

Responsibilities

• Set up cones, signs, and barricades and take traffic control equipment down.
• Use a stop/slow paddle to guide traffic and monitor job site activity.
• Follow all safety rules taught in training.
• Communicate with your crew and supervisor.
• Help keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe.
• Work outside year-round, in all weather.
• Shifts may include nights, weekends, or emergencies.
• Stand or walk 8 to 12 hours per shift.
• Wear safety gear provided; bring steel-toe safety boots.
