Job summary

AWP Safety, Inc. is seeking motivated Protectors to safely manage traffic at job sites across Connecticut. You will set up cones, signs, and barricades, guide vehicles with stop/slow paddles, and work outdoors year-round. Training is provided, no prior experience required, with opportunities for advancement.

The role offers hourly pay ($19.50–$20.25), overtime, paid training, and benefits like health insurance and a 401(k). Evening and weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• Able to stand, walk, and work outside for long periods.
• Able to lift 40-50 pounds.
• Willing to work in traffic and changing weather.
• Flexible schedule; show up on time for every shift.
• Must pass pre-hire screening, including a drug test (safety sensitive).
• Stay alert around moving traffic and follow safety rules.
• Treat coworkers and clients with respect.

Responsibilities

• Set up cones, signs, and barricades and take down traffic control equipment.
• Use a stop/slow paddle to guide traffic.
• Follow safety rules taught in training.
• Communicate with crew and supervisor.
• Help keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe.
• Work outside year-round in all weather.
• Shifts may change; some nights, weekends, or emergencies may be required.
• You may stand or walk 8 to 12 hours per shift.
• Provided safety gear; bring own steel-toe boots above the ankle.
