Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Traffic Management Center Operator to join the on-site team in Milwaukee, WI. You will monitor roadways, relay real-time traveler information, and coordinate with responders to manage incidents using ITS tools in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires willingness to work 2pm-10pm Swing Shift, pass CJIS background check, and maintain Flex Lane certification. Candidates should have a high school diploma and strong data-entry and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work on a 24/7/365 operation with weekend/holiday coverage.
• CJIS background check required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor Wisconsin roadways and provide real-time traveler information using ITS tools.
• Assess incoming data and prioritize reporting needs.
• Coordinate with first responders and dispatchers to relay incident information.
• Identify unplanned incidents and issues affecting traffic flow and safety.
• Maintain Flex Lane certifications and operate Flex Lane when needed.
• Prepare and maintain traffic incident reports for WI highways.
• Analyze large data sets from multiple sources to detect incidents.
• Provide real-time status updates on control room activities.
• Ensure ITS devices are functioning and raise maintenance requests.
• Perform dispatcher-like tasks in a call center environment.
• Ensure information is accurate, timely and properly disseminated.
• Attend training and meetings as requested.
