State of Indiana, through the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), is hiring for a traffic markings role in the LaPorte District. The position supervises and coordinates the traffic marking crew, operates striping and thermoplastic equipment, maintains records of materials used, and enforces safety procedures at multiple sites.

CDL A is required or must be obtained within 90 days. Starting pay is $24.26 per hour, with CDL endorsements earning an additional $1 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or obtain one with the first 90 days of employment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with the public and supervisors.
• Ability to lead and coordinate a crew in the field.
• Knowledge of highway guidelines and safety procedures.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; CDL training provided onsite.

Responsabilités

• Operate traffic marking equipment and maintain accuracy of materials and crew timesheets.
• Enforce safety procedures and coordinate with supervisors and contractors.
• Perform winter operations and emergency response duties as needed.
• Train and mentor crew members in proper techniques and safety standards.
