Job summary

The State of Indiana, through INDOT, is seeking a Crew Leader for the Wabash Unit to coordinate crews performing general highway maintenance and snow/ice operations. The role requires leadership abilities, CDL eligibility, and the capacity to work in varying weather conditions.

Starting pay is $24.26 per hour with potential additional pay for CDL endorsements; a comprehensive benefits package is offered. Training and advancement opportunities are available within INDOT.

Qualifications

• Able to lead and coordinate a field crew.
• Able to read, interpret and follow technical documents.
• Must be able to endure exposure to inclement weather and lift 50 pounds.
• Must possess a valid Class A or Class B CDL or obtain within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate general highway maintenance duties to keep INDOT assets in good condition.
• Provide direction to staff for daily operations and coordinate with the Unit Foreman.
• Perform snow and ice removal and winter operations as required.
• Repair and install traffic signs and pavement markings and respond to emergencies.
• Oversee testing, inspection and maintenance of equipment and materials.
