Job summary

Sambatek, LLC is seeking an experienced Traffic Group Lead in Minnetonka, MN to grow and guide a team delivering transportation projects. You’ll manage study to final design scope, schedule, budget, and quality while mentoring staff and advancing business development with public and private clients.

The role emphasizes leadership, client relations, and expansion of Sambatek’s Traffic group within the Public Division. Hybrid work supports office presence in Minnesota with flexible remote options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis on traffic/transportation engineering.
• PE in Civil Engineering with 8-15 years of relevant experience (PTOE preferred).
• Experience leading and/or managing traffic projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage traffic projects in study, preliminary design, and plan development phase.
• Drive pursuit efforts for transportation and traffic-focused projects from both public and private clients.
• Lead internal teams and collaborate with external stakeholders to deliver high-quality work for state and county clients.
• Evaluate traffic projects for freeways, arterial corridors, and intersections, including signals, roundabouts, and other designs.
• Represent Sambatek at meetings with clients, counties, cities, and other key stakeholders.
• Oversee quality reviews, risk management, and resource coordination.
• Support business development and market expansion efforts.
• Provide input to leadership for annual business planning and budgeting.
• Prepare and negotiate contract documents.
• Mentor, supervise, and train staff, and advise on strategic hiring.
• Responsible for the utilization and revenue of the Traffic Group.
