Job summary

Sambatek, LLC is seeking an experienced and driven Traffic Group Lead to grow and lead a team delivering high-impact traffic engineering projects. In this role, you’ll manage project development from start to finish—overseeing scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and resources.

You’ll play a key role in expanding our Minnesota client base by leading business development efforts, pursuing new opportunities, and building strong professional relationships as part of Sambatek’s Public Division.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis on traffic/transportation engineering.
• PE in Civil Engineering with 8-15 years of related experience (PTOE license preferred).
• Experience leading and/or managing traffic projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage traffic projects in study, preliminary design, and plan development phase.
• Drive pursuit efforts for transportation and traffic-focused projects from both public and private clients.
• Lead internal teams and collaborate with external stakeholders to deliver high-quality work for state and county clients.
• Evaluate traffic projects for freeways, arterial corridors, and intersections, including signals, roundabouts, and other innovative intersection control designs.
• Represent Sambatek at meetings with clients, counties, cities, and other key stakeholders.
• Oversee quality reviews, risk management, and resource coordination.
• Support business development and market expansion efforts.
• Provide input to leadership for the development for annual business planning and budgeting.
• Prepare and negotiate contract documents.
• Mentor, supervise, and train staff, and advise on strategic hiring.
• Responsible for the utilization and revenue of the Traffic Group.
