Job summary

Sambatek is seeking an experienced Traffic Engineer (Project Engineer) to lead the development of traffic tasks from start to finish and collaborate with project teams to ensure success.

You will work on highway and intersection projects, provide guidance to junior staff, and interact with clients and agencies to deliver high-quality outcomes. Hybrid work options support a Minnetonka, MN base.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on traffic/transportation engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) in Civil Engineering; PTOE license preferred.
• 4-10 years of relevant experience in traffic projects.
• Experience leading traffic projects and teams.
• Proficiency with traffic engineering software and public engagement.
• Strong communication and ability to manage client relations.

Responsibilities

• Lead traffic tasks in study, preliminary design, and plan development.
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver high-quality work for state and county clients.
• Evaluate traffic projects for freeways, arterials, signals, and intersections.
• Represent Sambatek at meetings with clients, counties, and cities.
• Conduct quality reviews, risk management, and resource coordination.
• Mentor, supervise, and train staff.
