Job summary
VIKA Virginia, LLC in Tysons, VA is seeking a Transportation engineer to expand our Transportation Services portfolio. The role collaborates with cross-functional teams and reports to the Director of Transportation.
Responsibilities include conducting transportation studies, providing technical support for data collection and analysis, developing intersection capacity analyses, signal timing plans, and contributing to business development initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or Transportation Planning.
- 3-6 years of progressive experience in traffic engineering and/or transportation planning.
- Proficiency with Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, SIDRA, and VISSIM.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoTurn, and ArcGIS.
- Strong knowledge of MUTCD.
- Strong knowledge in Traffic Signal Design.
- Strong knowledge of Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Plans.
Responsibilities
- Conduct transportation studies and traffic impact analyses
- Assist in project team management and provide technical support for traffic data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Develop intersection capacity analyses, signal timing plans, and geometric designs
- Participate in parking demand studies and multimodal transportation assessments
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for clients and regulatory agencies
- Attend client meetings and support project presentations
- Support junior staff development
- Contribute to business development initiatives
