VIKA Virginia, LLC in Tysons, VA is seeking a Transportation engineer to expand our Transportation Services portfolio. The role collaborates with cross-functional teams and reports to the Director of Transportation.

Responsibilities include conducting transportation studies, providing technical support for data collection and analysis, developing intersection capacity analyses, signal timing plans, and contributing to business development initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or Transportation Planning.
• 3-6 years of progressive experience in traffic engineering and/or transportation planning.
• Proficiency with Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, SIDRA, and VISSIM.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoTurn, and ArcGIS.
• Strong knowledge of MUTCD.
• Strong knowledge in Traffic Signal Design.
• Strong knowledge of Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Plans.

• Assist in project team management and provide technical support for traffic data collection, analysis, and reporting

• Attend client meetings and support project presentations
• Support junior staff development

Job description

The successful candidate will provide technical experience while expanding VIKA's Transportation Services portfolio. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams while reporting to the Director of Transportation.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or Transportation Planning
• 3-6 years of progressive experience in Traffic Engineering and/or Transportation Planning
• Proficiency with software: Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, SIDRA, and VISSIM
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoTurn, and ArcGIS
• Strong knowledge of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD)
• Strong knowledge in Traffic Signal Design
• Strong knowledge of Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Plans

The anticipated salary range for this position is $90,000 – $100,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors, in accordance with applicable law.
