Job summary

Consor seeks a Traffic Engineering Designer to contribute to complex transportation projects in McAllen, TX. You will apply engineering judgment and collaborate with project engineers and managers to deliver accurate, constructible traffic design solutions.

Responsibilities include delivering design plans, developing traffic control systems, performing calculations, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting studies related to design implementation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in transportation design.
• 2+ years of directly related experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation and/or Civil 3D.
• Proficiency with Excel.

Responsibilities

• Deliver traffic engineering design plans, specifications, and cost estimates for transportation projects.
• Develop and design traffic control systems including traffic signals, signing, pavement markings, lighting, and work zone traffic control.
• Perform traffic engineering calculations and analyses, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, agency criteria, and client requirements.
• Coordinate traffic design activities with multidisciplinary teams and provide technical guidance to junior staff.
• Assist project engineers and managers with quality control reviews, schedule tracking, and the coordination of traffic-related design deliverables.
• Support intersection, corridor, and multimodal traffic studies as they relate to design implementation.
