Job summary

Gfoat is seeking a Civil Engineer with a focus on traffic engineering to support planning, design, and specification development for transportation projects in Richardson, TX. The role assists with daily monitoring of the Traffic Control Center and collaborates with internal teams and external partners.

The ideal candidate holds a Civil Engineering degree, an EIT certification, and at least two years of traffic engineering experience, with knowledge of AutoCAD and traffic signal systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
  • Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification expected by Texas rules.
  • Minimum two years of professional traffic engineering experience.
  • Experience with traffic signal timing and TMC operations is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of traffic engineering mathematics and plans.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze engineering designs and data to support traffic projects.
  • Develop signal timing plans, coordination, and progression strategies.
  • Monitor and document traffic patterns to aid operations and planning.
  • Operate traffic models and troubleshoot related software/hardware.
  • Prepare clear oral and written presentations for stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with departments, agencies, consultants, and the public.
