Job summary

Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc. is seeking two Traffic Coordinators for our Avon, Indiana facility.

This 2nd shift role involves coordinating hazardous materials shipments, preparing export and customs paperwork, and scheduling carrier deliveries to ensure compliant, on-time transportation. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented with strong organization, communication skills, and the ability to follow written instructions.

Qualifications

  • Ability to resolve freight-related discrepancies and exceptions.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare dangerous goods shipments (Hazmat) domestically and for export, including paperwork and labels.
  • Prepare export and customs paperwork (Commercial Invoices, SLI) for export shipments.
  • Create shipping paperwork when shipments are not routed by standard carrier/account.
  • Perform daily carrier close-out procedures for invoicing and data transfer.
  • Schedule carrier deliveries and pickups, including special requests.
  • Review and resolve freight bill exceptions from third-party audits.
  • Support internal and external customers with traffic/shipping inquiries.
  • File and archive logistics records per policy.

Job Title: Traffic Coordinator Job Category: Supply Chain Management Job DescriptionWhat starts with YOU, moves the world! Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc, a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, has an outstanding opportunity for (2) exceptional and talented Traffic Coordinators, based out of our Avon, Indiana facility. PLEASE NOTE: This role is 2nd shift.

What You Will Do:
  • Prepare all Dangerous Goods Shipments (Hazmat), both domestic and export, including completing paperwork and ensuring shipments are marked, labeled, and conform to legal requirements (DOT CFR 49, IATA, and IMDG regulations) for the selected mode of transportation.
  • Prepare all required export and customs paperwork, including Commercial Invoices and Shipper’s Letter of Instruction, for all export shipments.
  • Prepare shipping paperwork for all shipments not routed by the standard default carrier or account number combination (different account number, special carrier requests, or other customer requirements).
  • Perform daily carrier close-out procedures required to trigger invoice billing processes to dealers and transfer tracking information to the business system.
  • Handle day-to-day scheduling of carrier delivery and pickup appointments, including regularly scheduled carriers and special requests due to customer or business needs.
  • Review and resolve freight bill exceptions as reported by the third-party freight bill audit and payment company.
  • Provide assistance with all traffic and shipping-related inquiries from internal and external customers.
  • File and archive logistics records in accordance with company policy, including records retention and approved disposal at the end of the retention period.

What You Will Need (Education):
