Job summary

RoadSafe Traffic Systems is seeking a Traffic Control Technician II in the Manassas, VA area to set up and take down lane closures and ensure safety on assigned projects. The role involves directing traffic, transporting materials, and following contractor directions across multiple sites.

Ideal candidates will have 1–3 years of traffic control experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass DOT and background checks. Travel statewide, with potential overnight stays, is required.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience and 2,000 field hours in traffic control.
• Must pass a background check, including motor vehicle records check.
• Must pass a drug test and meet federal DOT requirements.
• Wear proper safety equipment (boots, hard hat, safety glasses, vest).
• Must read plans and ensure traffic control plans are implemented.

Responsibilities

• Set up and take down lane closures on state highways and roadways.
• Redirect traffic for workers or survey crews and work independently or with a crew.
• Assemble, deliver, and pick up safety products from job sites per contractor directions.
• Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites.
• Monitor the work zone to keep items in their proper locations.
