Job summary

RoadSafe Traffic Systems in Columbus, OH is seeking a Traffic Control Technician II to responsibly set up and take down lane closures and maintain safety at projects on state highways and other roadways.

You will drive MOT and TMA vehicles, place traffic control devices, and load/unload materials, following safety rules and project directions. Willingness to travel statewide and work nights/weekends is required; background and DOT requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• 1–3 years of experience in traffic control preferred.
• Must pass background check and motor vehicle record check.
• Must pass drug test and meet federal DOT requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites.
• Drive MOT and TMA vehicles to project sites to protect workers and work zones.
• Place temporary construction signs and set up traffic control devices.
• Monitor the work zone and ensure items remain in proper locations.
• Perform shop work and basic maintenance on equipment.
