Job summary

RoadSafe Traffic Systems in Texas seeks a Traffic Control Technician II to set up and take down lane closures, and to ensure safety on state highways and other roadways. You may work independently or with a crew, following contractor directions.

Responsibilities include operating trucks, placing signs, setting up cones, and maintaining work zones; willingness to travel statewide and occasional overnight stays; pass background and DOT checks.

Qualifications

• Basic reading and writing ability to comply with road signs and paperwork.
• Knowledge of federal and state motor carrier safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites.
• Drive MOT vehicle to and from projects and work sites.
• Drive TMA vehicle to protect workers and work zones.
• Place temporary construction signs in work areas.
• Position arrow boards or variable message boards.
• Set up traffic cones and other safety devices.
• Monitor the work zone for proper placement.
• Load and unload traffic control items at shifts.
• Install, remove, and reset delineators, signs, posts and supports.
• Perform general shop maintenance on equipment.
• Follow safety rules and company policies.
• Be available for rotating on-call schedule.
