Job summary

RoadSafe Traffic Systems in Phoenix, AZ is hiring an Experienced Traffic Control Technician II. You will set up and dismantle lane closures, direct traffic for crews, and handle safety equipment across projects. Travel statewide and night/weekend shifts are common, with medical/dental/vision and 401(k) benefits available.

Responsibilities include operating MOT and TMA vehicles, placing signs, and maintaining traffic control plans while adhering to safety regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License required.
• 1–3 years traffic control experience with 2,000 field hours.
• Must pass background and motor vehicle checks.
• DOT drug testing compliance required.
• Wear safety PPE (boots with safety toe, hard hat, glasses, vest).
• Read plans and implement traffic control plans.
• Able to lift up to 70 pounds.
• Willing to travel statewide; overnight stays may occur.
• Rotating on-call schedule; mechanical background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites.
• Drive MOT vehicle to and from projects and on worksites.
• Drive TMA vehicle to protect workers and work zones.
• Place temporary construction signs in work areas.
• Position arrow boards or variable message boards.
• Set up traffic cones and safety devices.
• Monitor the work zone to keep items in place.
• Load and unload traffic control items at shift start/end.
• Install and remove delineators and signs as directed.
• Perform shop maintenance on equipment.
• Follow safety rules and company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
