Job summary

RoadSafe Traffic Systems is seeking a Traffic Control Technician II to set up and take down lane closures on state highways and roadways. The role includes directing traffic for crews, delivering safety products to sites, and following contractor directions with independence or as part of a crew.

Applicants should have 1–3 years of traffic control experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass DOT background and drug tests.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License is required.
• 1–3 years of experience and ~2,000 hours in field traffic control.
• Must pass a background check, including motor vehicle records.
• Must pass a drug test and meet federal DOT requirements.
• Must be able to read plans and ensure traffic control plans are implemented.
• Ability to lift and move up to 70 pounds.
• Willingness to travel statewide with occasional overnight stays and be available for nights/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites.
• Drive MOT and TMA vehicles to and from projects and work sites.
• Set up traffic cones, signs, and other traffic safety devices.
• Place and position arrow boards or variable message boards.
• Monitor the work zone and ensure items remain in place.
• Perform shop maintenance and routine repair of equipment.
