Job summary

AWP Safety is hiring Protectors to work at job sites, setting up traffic control equipment and guiding traffic with a stop/slow paddle. You’ll train on safety rules and build a career in traffic management. Expect outdoor shifts, year‑round weather, and potential nights or weekend work.

We provide gear like hard hats and vests; you bring steel-toe boots. Paid training and a safety certificate support your growth within the team.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Able to stand, walk, and work outdoors for long periods.
• Able to lift 40–50 pounds.
• Willing to work in traffic and varying weather conditions.
• Flexible schedule; punctual for each shift.
• Must pass pre-hire screening, including a drug test.
• Stay alert around moving traffic and follow safety rules.
• Treat coworkers, clients, and the public with respect.

Responsibilities

• Setting up cones, signs, and barricades and taking traffic control equipment down.
• Using a stop/slow paddle to guide traffic and monitor site activity.
• Following all safety rules taught in training.
• Communicating with crew and supervisor.
• Helping keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe.
• Working outside year-round, in all weather.
• Shifts may include nights, weekends, or emergencies.
