Acme Barricades in Moody, AL is hiring a Maintenance of Traffic laborer to perform temporary traffic control on road construction projects, protecting the public and keeping traffic flowing safely in a defined work zone. The role requires MOT experience or willingness to train, HS diploma, ability to lift-heavy loads, and compliance with safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in Maintenance of Traffic / Temporary Traffic Control or related industry (experience not required; willing to train the right person)
• High School Diploma/GED and able to communicate clearly in written and spoken English
• Advanced MOT Certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain traffic control devices, signs, and lights in work zones.
• Manage MOT activity, detours, and lane closures.
• Coordinate with on-site client representatives or officials.
• Load/unload equipment from company trucks and deliver/pick up equipment.
• Oversee traffic control laborers to ensure MOT guidelines compliance.
• Suggest improvements for traffic maintenance procedures.
• Complete daily paperwork and reports as required by supervisor.
• If licensed, operate company vehicles and maintain MVR standards.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
