Job summary

RoadSafe Traffic Systems in Powell, TN is seeking a Traffic Control Flagger to direct traffic around construction sites and work zones. You will set up signs, cones, and barricades, use stop/slow paddles, and communicate with motorists to keep everyone safe outdoors in varying weather.

This non-exempt role requires attention to detail, the ability to stand for long periods, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel statewide; occasional nights and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Must pass background check and motor vehicle records.
• Must pass a drug test and meet federal DOT requirements.
• ATSSA Flagger training and Defensive Driver training completed or willingness to obtain.
• Willingness to travel statewide and work nights/weekends.
• Operate two-way radio and wear safety equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up signs, cones, and traffic control devices around work areas to divert traffic.
• Effectively manage traffic flow with stop/slow paddles.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with team members using two-way radios.
• Stand and walk for up to 10 hours a day.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and move items over 50 pounds.
• Drive company vehicles to transport traffic control equipment to and from job sites.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks.
• Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and moving traffic.
