Job summary

RoadSafe Traffic Systems is seeking a Traffic Control Flagger to direct traffic around construction zones and manage traffic flow using signs, cones, and stop/slow paddles. This role requires standing for long periods outdoors in varying weather, lifting up to 50 pounds, and communicating clearly with team members via radios.

The position involves traveling statewide for assignments, may require overnight stays, and demands adherence to safety protocols, DOT requirements, and on-call

Qualifications

• Must pass a background check including motor vehicle records check.
• Must successfully pass a drug test and meet federal DOT requirements.
• Wear proper safety equipment (boots with safety toe, hard hat, safety glasses, vest).
• Operate 2-way radio and communicate with contractors and internal teams.
• Willingness to travel statewide with occasional overnight stays.
• Be available for rotating on-call schedule.
• ATSSA Flagger training and Defensive Driver training completed.

Responsibilities

• Set up signs, cones, and devices to divert traffic around work areas.
• Effectively manage traffic flow with stop/slow paddles.
• Maintain clear communication with team using two-way radios.
• Stand and walk outdoors for extended periods in various weather.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 50 pounds.
• Drive company vehicles transporting traffic control equipment.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks.
