Job summary

Chicago Trading Company in Chicago, IL seeks a Trade Support Engineer to troubleshoot live trading issues, manage incidents, and ensure the stability of production trading systems. You will work directly with traders and developers to diagnose problems under pressure and drive rapid resolutions.

In this role, you will automate workflows with Linux, Python, and Bash, collaborate across teams, and contribute to process improvements while supporting a high-performance trading operation.

Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting in a Linux environment via CLI.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash for automation.
• Experience supporting end users in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with ownership-driven approach to incident management.
• Experience querying databases (SQL, Snowflake) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve live trading system issues, minimizing downtime.
• Monitor real-time production environments and respond to anomalies.
• Automate workflows using Linux, Python, and Bash.
• Collaborate with traders and developers to relay issues and assist with patching.
• Contribute to runbooks, FAQs, and retrospectives.
• Own incident response and drive continuous improvement of support operations.
