Job summary

Tempest Vane Partners has partnered with a growing systematic hedge fund and opened a Trading Operations Engineer role in their New York City office. The successful candidate will support mission critical trading systems, including execution, FIX and order management platforms, as well as Post Trade systems, across a global support team.

The role requires strong scripting, FIX knowledge and prior financial markets experience, with the team operating a follow-the-sun model across the US, London

Qualifications

• 3-10 years of experience supporting trading systems for hedge funds, quant firms, investment banks or financial markets companies.
• Strong scripting skills with Python, Bash or similar scripting language.
• In depth knowledge of FIX protocol and exchange connectivity.
• Extensive experience working in Unix/Linux environments.
• Hands on experience building and using monitoring tools, log scanners and metric collection instruments.
• Excellent incident management, change control and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Support mission critical trading systems including execution, FIX and order management platforms as well as Post Trade systems across the fund.
• Work with Traders, Quants and Senior Stakeholders; participate in the team’s follow-the-sun model covering US, London and Middle East regions.

Tempest Vane Partners have partnered with a growing systematic hedge fund who are establishing a strong name for themselves in the global financial markets space. They have recently opened up a new role in their New York City office for an experienced Trading Operations Engineer to join their global support team. This team supports all of the mission critical trading systems including execution, FIX and order management platforms as well as the Post Trade systems across the fund.

The successful Trading Operations Engineer will be working in a fast paced environment with direct business interaction across multiple different teams including Traders, Quants and Senior Stakeholders across the firm. This is a highly technical role that requires strong scripting, monitoring and FIX knowledge and prior experience working in financial markets. You will be supporting many key systems and take part in the teams "follow the sun" model which covers the US, London and Middle East regions.

Key Requirements
