DevOps Engineer with deep Front Office trading support experience

Are you a seasoned DevOps Engineer with deep Front Office trading support experience and a passion for keeping global trading platforms operating at peak performance?

We're partnering with a leading global energy trading organisation looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a high-performing team supporting critical derivatives trading environments. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of technology, trading, market data, and infrastructure within a fast-paced commodities trading business.

The Opportunity

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you'll play a key role in supporting and enhancing global exchange-traded derivatives platforms. Working closely with traders, developers, infrastructure teams, and vendors, you'll be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and resilience of business-critical trading systems.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in front-office environments and enjoys solving complex technical challenges in real time.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively manage and improve end-to-end trading workflows across production environments
• Ensure platform stability, resilience, and performance through continuous improvement initiatives
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents across trading applications, market data platforms, and infrastructure
• Partner with development and infrastructure teams to deliver scalable, long-term solutions
• Provide subject matter expertise on trading systems and market connectivity
• Support exchange connectivity, vendor certification activities, and FIX messaging infrastructure
• Monitor and enhance market data distribution platforms and trading technologies
• Participate in a global on-call support rota

Required Experience

6+ years' experience supporting Front Office trading applications within:

• Commodity Trading firms
• Investment Banks
• Capital Markets organisations

Strong understanding of:

• Exchange-traded derivatives trading lifecycle
• Order capture, execution, allocation, settlement, and compliance processes

Hands-on technical experience with:

• Python, PowerShell, C#, SQL, or similar programming/scripting languages
• Application deployment and production support best practices
• FIX Protocol engineering (3+ years)
• Exchange and vendor certification processes
• OMS/EMS platforms such as TT, Bloomberg, NYFIX, TradingScreen
• TCP/IP, Multicast networking, and messaging technologies

Highly Desirable

• Bloomberg, Refinitiv, and other market data vendors
• Liquidity aggregation platforms
• Time-series analytics technologies including kdb+, Shakti, or similar
• Algorithmic trading environments
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as RTS6
