Job summary

Phillips 66 in Houston seeks a senior commercial data scientist to own analytics products for trading and business decisions. You will work with traders and analysts to turn multi-source data into actionable signals and scalable data science solutions.

Lead end-to-end projects, mentor teammates, and contribute to durable MLOps workflows using Python, MLflow, and CI/CD across commodities.

Qualifications

Master’s degree or higher in a related quantitative field.
6+ years of industry experience developing and deploying advanced analytics and ML solutions.
Strong Python data science skills with production-quality coding.
Ability to translate insights into actionable commercial recommendations.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

Define high-value problem statements with traders and leaders and translate insights into decisions.
Lead end-to-end data science initiatives including forecasting, optimization, and anomaly detection.
Evaluate data sources to strengthen quality and relevance for business-ready data products.
Develop reusable modeling patterns and tools scalable across commodities and teams.
Write production-quality code and collaborate with ML/DS engineers for deployment and MLOps.
Mentor data scientists and contribute to tooling and architecture decisions.
Communicate results to technical and non-technical stakeholders and support dashboard integration.
