Job summary

ConocoPhillips is seeking a Senior Data Solution Developer with commercial/energy trading experience to bridge the gap between raw energy market data and actionable insights. You will design high-performance data solutions, data models, and automated pipelines, partnering with data architects, analysts, and model developers.

The role emphasizes building scalable data infrastructure, ensuring data quality, and supporting forecasting, optimization, risk modeling, and real-time decision making

Qualifications

• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Science, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in full stack Python development
• 5+ years of experience in energy trading/commercial front office environments
• Advanced SQL and cloud-based data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks)
• Advanced knowledge of GitHub Actions, CI/CD, Docker, Terraform
• Intermediate knowledge of Airflow, Databricks Jobs or ADF
• Intermediate knowledge of REST APIs (Flask, FastAPI)
• Intermediate knowledge of Cloud DevOps (Azure, AWS)
• Basic knowledge of web-scraping frameworks (Selenium, Beautiful Soup)
• Basic knowledge of Plotly Dash or similar dashboards

Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust data pipelines, ETL/ELT, and orchestration for Commercial data
• Translate business requirements into technical specs for end-to-end data solutions
• Build and maintain scalable data infra including data warehouses, data lakes, and streaming systems
• Implement data quality validation, monitoring, and error handling
• Monitor system health and automate recovery to minimize downtime
• Monitor Commercial trading analytics models performance
• Adhere to governance and compliance policies for data and processes
• Ingest and catalog real-time and structured/unstructured datasets into Data Management environments
• Collaborate with Data Architects and analysts to align data management with business priorities
