Job summary

Phillips 66 is seeking a Sr. Advisor III, Commercial Data Scientist to lead analytics for the Commercial desk in Houston.

You will own relationships with traders and analysts, turn market data into decision-ready signals, and establish production workflows for scalable analytics. You will guide end-to-end data science projects, collaborate on deployment and MLOps, and translate insights into commercial actions while communicating with senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Master’s degree or higher in a quantitative field
• 6+ years of experience delivering analytics and ML solutions
• Strong Python data science and production-quality coding
• Strong foundations in statistics and modeling, including time-series and econometrics
• Ability to translate analyses into actionable commercial recommendations
• Excellent communication with technical and business stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Partner with traders, strategists and analysts to frame high-value problems
• Lead end-to-end data science initiatives across forecasting and optimization
• Identify and assess data sources to build trusted data products
• Translate analyses into reusable models and tools for scale
• Develop production-quality code and collaborate on deployment, monitoring and MLOps
• Mentor team members and influence without formal authority
• Communicate results clearly to leadership and integrate into dashboards
