Jones Day seeks a Trademark Paralegal to prepare USPTO filings, support domestic and international trademark proceedings, and interact with clients and foreign counsel. The role emphasizes precise document handling and timely task completion in a fast-paced law firm environment.

The ideal candidate has at least four years of experience, strong SAEGIS/PTO TEAS proficiency, and excellent organizational skills, with flexibility for overtime to meet deadlines.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree with strong academic record.
• Minimum four years of experience as a Trademark Paralegal in a law firm or corporation.
• Ability to communicate with clients and local counsel regarding issues that may arise during prosecution.
• Fluent with SAEGIS, PTO TEAS System; Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize, juggle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Flexibility to work overtime.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare USPTO filings including Applications, Office Action Responses, Amendments to Allege Use, Declarations of Use and Applications for Renewal.
• Assist attorneys with domestic and international trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings, including pleadings and document production.
• File documents with the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board; conduct Internet research; assist with policing and enforcement (e.g., cease and desist letters).
• Communicate with clients regarding US and foreign trademark maintenance requirements; conduct online trademark searches; analyze results and prepare reports.
• Instruct and liaise with international associates to oversee filing and prosecution of international applications; oversee execution and legalization of documents.
• Assist with trademark due diligence and prepare investigative summaries and recommendations.
