This position supports attorneys and legal teams in all aspects of domestic and international trademark prosecution, portfolio management, client communications, and related intellectual property matters. Candidates may be considered at either the Senior Paralegal or Paralegal Specialist level based on experience.
Compensation
Senior Paralegal
This is an hourly, non-exempt position eligible for a generous overtime program that exceeds minimum legal requirements.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and file U.S. and foreign trademark applications and prosecution documents, including Statements of Use, Extensions of Time, Amendments to Allege Use, and Sections 8, 15, and related filings
- Draft correspondence with clients and foreign associates
- Conduct preliminary trademark availability searches
- Review Office Actions and summarize issues for attorneys
- Review trademark search results, prepare analyses, charts, and draft findings
- Draft filing instructions and prosecution-related correspondence
- Manage trademark deadlines, docket reporting, and docket clearance
- Communicate filing updates, deadlines, and prosecution status to clients
- Prepare agendas and materials for client meetings and portfolio reviews
- Evaluate specimens of use for potential submission
- Assist with TTAB proceedings and trademark litigation, including document preparation, filings, docket maintenance, and evidence gathering
- Support copyright matters or demonstrate willingness to develop copyright experience
- Draft, analyze, and prepare legal documents
- Coordinate legal projects and communications
- Collect, evaluate, and summarize factual and legal information
- Attend client meetings, coordination meetings, and legal proceedings
- Supervise and delegate work to junior paralegals and support staff, as assigned
- Maintain notary commission/license where required
- Maintain accurate billing and timekeeping records

Education
- Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program required
Experience
Senior Paralegal
- 7+ years of trademark paralegal experience
Preferred Experience
- Domestic and international trademark prosecution
- TTAB proceedings
- Large law firm or sophisticated IP practice environment
