Job summary

Spindrift is seeking a Staff Accountant focused on trade deductions to safeguard financial integrity in a fast-moving CPG environment. You will handle deduction processing, postings, and monthly close, ensuring accurate records and strong audit trails.

You will collaborate with Sales, FP&A, and Customer Service to validate deductions against plans and deals, while supporting the preparation of management reports and SOPs for improvement.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting or finance experience, with trade deductions or AR in a CPG environment preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Experience with cash application, credit memo processing, and GL reconciliation.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; able to manage a high volume of open items while maintaining accuracy.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills; comfortable cross-functionally with Sales, Logistics, and Customer Service teams.

Responsibilities

• Trade Deduction Processing & Reconciliation: research and validate deductions with backup and post credits.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: partner with Sales and FP&A; coordinate with Supply Chain and Customer Service.
• Reporting & Month-End Close: prepare aging schedules; accrue deductions; generate deduction reports.
• Controls & Process Improvement: ensure workflows follow internal controls; help develop SOPs for trade deductions.
