Job summary

Spindrift, headquartered in Newton, MA, is seeking a Staff Accountant to manage trade deductions and support financial integrity. You will collaborate with Sales, FP&A, and Customer Service to validate deductions and ensure accurate accounting.

Responsibilities include processing deductions, maintaining audit trails, and preparing monthly accruals. Strong Excel skills and experience with trade promotion mechanics are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• 2+ years of accounting or finance experience in CPG, food & beverage, or consumer goods preferred.
• Experience with trade deductions, chargebacks, or accounts receivable is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Research deduction backup to validate or dispute deductions promptly.
• Classify deductions by type and ensure proper accounting treatment.
• Post credit memos and maintain audit trails for adjustments.
• Identify invalid deductions and prepare dispute packages for customers.
• Prepare monthly accruals and reconcile deductions in monthly close.
• Reconcile bottle deposits and review broker commissions monthly.
