Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. is seeking a Tractor Technician II to perform intermediate maintenance, service, and repair of tractors and equipment under routine supervision.

You will troubleshoot issues, follow SRT and warranty guidelines, and ensure compliance with company specs. This full-time role may involve outdoor work, varied shifts, nights and weekends, overtime. Minimum qualifications include 18+ with 1-2 years tractor maintenance, A/C certification, and exposure to DOT/FHWA

Qualifications

• 18 years of age with 1-2 years of experience in Semi-Tractor maintenance and repair or equivalent education/experience.
• A/C Certification and at least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes.
• Basic tools are required; employees must supply their own tools or use toolbox program.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficient technical knowledge of preventative maintenance, replacement of parts and more difficult repairs on tractors.
• Assist with onboarding and mentoring Tractor Technician trainees.
• Troubleshoot tractor issues and work independently or seek help as needed.
• Follow all shop safety procedures and maintain professional communication with JB Hunt personnel and customers.
• Perform repairs to company and manufacturer specifications, complete work orders, and adhere to SRT and warranty guidelines.
