J.B. Hunt is seeking a Tractor Technician with advanced expertise to perform complex maintenance, service, and repair on tractors and related equipment. The Senior role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and ensuring fleet readiness to J.B. Hunt specifications.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older with 3+ years of experience in semi-tractor maintenance and repair, training, or military equivalent; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability and willingness to work outdoors, in the elements, and across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed.
• A/C certification and 1 year of experience with DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes.
• Basic tools required to perform role; tools provided by employee in most locations; toolbox purchase program available in some locations.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate advanced technical knowledge of preventative maintenance, replacement of parts/components, and complex repairs on tractors including fuel system, battery, engine, drive train, onboard computer, transmission, air brake systems, and FHWA inspections.
• Mentor Tractor Technician trainees and act as team lead on shifts; participate in OE repair training.
• Troubleshoot tractor issues, develop innovative solutions, and perform tasks independently with minimal direction.
• Follow shop safety procedures and maintain professional communication with JB Hunt personnel and customers.
