Job summary

J.B. Hunt is seeking a Senior Tractor Technician to perform complex maintenance, service, and repair of tractors and equipment in a fast-paced shop environment. You will diagnose issues, repair systems including fuel, electrical, drivetrain, and air brakes, and ensure work meets company standards and SRT targets.

The role may involve outdoor work, possible overnight or weekend shifts, and overtime. Strong diagnostic and mentoring skills are required, with a focus on safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in semi-tractor maintenance and repair or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work outdoors or across multiple shifts including nights/weekends if needed.
• Must supply basic tools or use company toolbox program.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair tractors and related components to manufacturer specs.
• Mentor trainees, lead shifts, and ensure safety procedures are followed.

The Senior is responsible for performing complex maintenance, service, and repair of J.B. Hunt tractors and other equipment. A/C Certification, at least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes. Basic tools are required to successfully perform this role. These tools must be supplied by the employee in most locations.
